What’s The Rush?

This blog is a result of an inner dialogue. You see, I tried to become a full-time landscape photographer for a long time. I went on a journey that made me learn a lot and gave me some amazing experiences. I had a terrible accident in 2018, and while I was lying in one position for a whole month in the hospital, I decided not to become one. Besides so many other things that I learned about life because of my accident, I believe that the Creator gave me a chance to reflect back on my creative journey as well.

Long Story Short

I still want to do content creation full-time, which includes photography, video and filmmaking. However, what I have realised is that I need to enjoy the journey.

I get disappointed when I don’t get the attention I believe my work deserves, because in this world of social media, the more attention you have, the higher the chances of you becoming a full-time content creator and earning through it. But, “What’s the rush Muji?”, is what I tell myself. It doesn’t really matter how long it takes me to become a self-sufficient content creator because I want to do it for the rest of my life. As much as I want this to happen “now”, I feel I am not ready for it. So if it takes a year or two or three, that’s fine because, at the moment, I am trying my best to embrace the creative process and lay a solid foundation with an organised approach to be where I want to be. Success comes to those who are patient, work hard and are smart too. If I am in it to do it forever, what’s the rush? I want to enjoy the journey and stick to the path.

What do you think of my opinion and approach? Do you relate to this? Drop a comment in the comment section below and let me know what you think.

Peace

Muji
