About Muji
Two Decades of Logic, a Lifetime of Vision
I am Mujahid Ur Rehman, though most know me simply as Muji. For eighteen years, my world was defined by the structured logic of Information Technology. As a Software Architect, I had reached a level of seniority and security that many strive for, yet beneath the surface, I was living a life of "quiet desperation." Since I was a student, I had been captivated by the work of master photographers, pinning their images to my walls as an escape. I bought my first camera with my very first salary in 2006, and for nearly two decades, I lived two parallel lives: one in the corporate office and one behind the lens.
An Honest Shift Toward Passion
The transition from a secure career to a creative life wasn't a sudden explosion, but a slow, humbling evolution. In 2024, I finally chose to resign and step away from the "shackles of the mind," the societal scripts that told me creativity was only a hobby. It wasn't a quest for glory, but an honest need to align my daily life with my heart. I stopped letting the fear of failure dictate my path and instead chose to see what might happen if I finally gave my passion the space it deserved. This journey hasn't been about being a hero; it has been about the quiet courage required to start over.
Photography: Teaching Through the Lens
Today, my life is a blend of exploration and education. While I am a photographer and filmmaker by trade, my primary role is that of an educator. Since leaving the corporate world, I have traveled extensively, capturing the vibrant textures of urban life and the raw beauty of the natural world. I don't just take these photos for myself; I use every frame and every mile traveled to create content for others. I spend my days writing professionally, designing online courses, and producing YouTube tutorials. My goal is to share the knowledge I’ve gathered over the years with those just beginning their own creative adventures.
Filmmaking: The Heart of the Story
Filmmaking remains a vital part of my creative soul, though I approach it with careful intention. I specialize in documentary and short films, focusing on projects that share human stories with the world. I am quite selective about the film projects I take on, ensuring I commit only to work that truly resonates with the art of storytelling. Whether I am making a cinematic tutorial or a short documentary, I aim to showcase the breathtaking beauty of the world and the deep emotional connections we have with nature and each other.
Join the Journey
I am always open to connecting with fellow creators, students, and collaborators. Whether you are interested in my photography courses, need guidance on your creative path, or have a storytelling project, I would love to hear from you.
Additionally, for several years now, I have shared a piece of my heart every single week. My newsletter, Sunday Morning Beans, is sent out every Sunday morning and features reflections on life, travel, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. I invite you to subscribe and join my community of readers as we explore the world together.
Kind regards
Muji
