My search for mushrooms…
While watching a video of a YouTuber, her simple story of finding mushrooms took me on a journey.
WE ARE ALL FINDING MUSHROOMS
Imagination has no limits, and the above image illustrates what my mind saw when I stumbled upon this girl’s quest to find mushrooms in the forest for cooking. So the girl said that if you know the forest has mushrooms and you don’t see or find them, it might mean you are a day too early or too late. So my mind took me to this imaginary forest while watching her video. While walking and wandering, I picked a few mushrooms in my basket, but the ones I sought were not there. It didn’t mean I was not enjoying being in the forest, nor did it mean that I was ungrateful for using the forest and its resources. I hoped I was not late by a day or two; however, I thought I was a bit early. I felt I was not in the right place and needed to walk further in the forest. While I walked a bit more, I picked whatever I could and was not ungrateful.
Okay, enough figurative speech—I am sure you got the point! The video from this girl was a good reminder that we must all have a purpose in life and a connection with life, too. Mine is to be creative, adventurous and influential. I keep forgetting my purpose, and then I start taking wrong turns in desperation, ignoring the fact that the forest, i.e. my life and what I am surrounded by, is something I should always be grateful for. Billions of people cannot afford the luxuries, safety, and peace that I have. Yes, I should strive to achieve more and better, but not forget the mountain I am already standing on!
Do you have a forest where you go to find mushrooms?
Quote of the Day: “What you seek is seeking you”. ~Rumi
(This phrase implies a reciprocal relationship between you and your desires. It suggests that your yearning for something, whether love, knowledge, or spiritual fulfilment, is also a force driving you towards it.)
