The Mountain You Are Standing On Right Now

I came across an interesting real life story, I can’t remember the name of the person.

THE MOUNTAIN YOU ARE STANDING ON RIGHT NOW

A man travels to Indonesia and hires a guide to climb a beautiful mountain. The guide asks him to be ready at midnight. Throughout the hike, the man wonders why they started their journey at night. They trek through the darkness and reach the summit at 6 a.m. It is only when they arrive at the top that he realises the sun rises at that time, and the guide brought him up to witness it. The breathtaking sunrise, along with the stunning views and wide vistas, is a moment he will never forget.

Curious about another mountain in the distance, the man asks, "Can we climb that mountain far away?"

The guide responds, "It’s quite far away but also famous for climbing."

Intrigued, the man asks, "How long does it take to climb, and is it beautiful up there?"

The guide replies, “Sir, why don’t you just enjoy the mountain you are standing on right now? Isn’t it breathtaking up here?”

Lesson: It’s simple, isn’t it? We sometimes fail to appreciate what we have today. The mountain we stand on might be someone’s dream. Yes, you should climb higher peaks, but enjoy each moment of where you stand today, as you might not have that place in the future.

Quote of the Day: "It's not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves". ~Sir Edmund Hillary
